[Seyond](https://www.seyond.com/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) (圖達通), a maker of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors, mostly for cars, shipped about 268,900 units from July through September, up about 217% from a year earlier, it said in an [Oct. 12 filing](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/1012/2026101200005.pdf?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) in Hong Kong. What the filing didn't say: that was slightly fewer than the roughly 271,100 it shipped in the second quarter. Its second-quarter filing had given a quarter-on-quarter comparison; this one didn't.

The mix is shifting. Its Robin series passed 200,000 units in a quarter for the first time, at about 200,900, while the Falcon series slipped to about 66,500 from 77,800.

Why does a flat quarter matter? In its 2025 annual report released in April, Seyond said it expected 2026 shipments to rise about 200% from 2025's roughly 332,500, to nearly 1 million units. Based on shipments of about 721,400 units in the first nine months, hitting this estimate would require shipping about 276,000 in the fourth quarter, slightly more than its best quarter so far.

Seyond depends on one customer: Chinese electric-car maker [Nio](https://www.nio.com/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) took 86.2% of the units it delivered in 2025, down from 97.3% in 2024\. Nio's [third quarter 2026 deliveries were 109,178](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/10/01/3372504/0/en/index.html?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io), a 25.4% YoY increase. Its Robin W and other sensors have also won large orders for driverless transport, logistics handling and street-cleaning machines from companies including Zelostech, EP Equipment and UISEE, Seyond says. Rival [RoboSense](https://www.robosense.ai/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) (速騰聚創), which reports sales rather than shipments, [sold about 595,600 units](https://asia-tech-news.ghost.io/robosenses-2026-lidar-unit-sales-already-top-last-years/) in the third quarter.
