The ten biggest independent factories that build TVs for global brands shipped 11% fewer of them in September than a year earlier, according to [September figures](https://display.ofweek.com/2026-10/ART-8321305-8420-30708166.html?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) from [Runto](https://www.runtotech.com/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) (洛图科技), a Chinese market-research firm. Only one of Runto's top ten grew: [TPV](https://www.tpv-tech.com/en/info.html?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) (冠捷), whose shipments rose 50.5% to about 1.1 million TVs. More than half of those units reflected TPV's own brands.

The fall came despite the annual stock-ups in advance of Black Friday overseas and China's Singles Day shopping festival. Runto blamed excess inventory from earlier in the year as well as low sales expectations. It said shipments fell across the whole third quarter too, a sign of weak demand and of brands stocking cautiously for the second half. So far this year, shipments peaked in August rather than in September as they did last year, partly because demand came early, Runto said.

TPV isn't only a contract maker. Listed in Shenzhen, with roots in a company founded in Taiwan in 1967 and 11 manufacturing bases around the world, it makes TVs and monitors for other brands, owns the AOC brand and has long held exclusive rights to run the [Philips](https://www.philips.com/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) TV business worldwide, its website says. In September, shipments of Philips- and AOC-brand TVs together rose 85.9% and made up 55.0% of TPV's shipments, Runto said. A year earlier, Philips alone was nearly 40% of TPV's volume. Its shipments for outside customers such as [Sony](https://www.sony.com/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io) also did well, Runto said.

The rest of the ten shipped less. The largest, Moka (茂佳), shipped about 1.45 million TVs, down 23.7%. Runto didn't say why. The two Taiwan-based makers Runto lists also fell. [Foxconn](https://www.foxconn.com/en-us?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io), based in New Taipei City, shipped about 350,000 units, down 18.6%. [Innolux](https://www.innolux.com/?ref=asia-tech-news.ghost.io), which Runto dropped from its top ten after its February shipments fell to 15,000 TVs, shipped about 30,000, down 83.5%.

TV sales in China are falling as well. Runto's separate count of TVs that brands shipped into China's market [fell 7.5% in September](https://asia-tech-news.ghost.io/chinas-tv-shipments-continue-to-fall-with-smaller-brands-edged-out/) from a year previously.
