Who automates the warehouses behind cross-border online shopping? In Poland, KENGIC (科捷智能), a Shanghai-listed logistics-automation company, is lining up to be one answer. It said on Oct. 9 that it had won a bid worth about RMB 75 million (about US$11.2 million), including tax, for an automated logistics project there.

The project supports an overseas warehouse hub for what KENGIC describes only as a well-known global cross-border e-commerce company. KENGIC isn't naming the client, citing commercial confidentiality, and is still signing the formal contract.

KENGIC makes stacker cranes, cross-belt sorters and conveyor systems, and says it has delivered more than 1,000 integrated projects in 17 countries.
